On December 6th, KEDA Industrial Group's first glass production line in South America, the Peru Float Glass Production Line Project, held its groundbreaking ceremony. This not only signifies KEDA Industrial Group's first step into the South American market in the glass industry but also marks further steady progress in the "large-scale building materials" strategy. Additionally, KEDA Peru Glass Factory will be the company's first building materials project in Peru. Chao XU, General Manager of KEDA Peru Building Materials Co., Ltd., and also the General Manager of SUNDA International Group (Peru) company, along with the on-site project team, attended the groundbreaking ceremony.
A month ago, after 6 months of concerted efforts, multiple rounds of negotiations, risk management, as well as surveys and legal procedures, KEDA Peru Glass Factory successfully held a land signing ceremony in Lima, the capital of Peru. This marked the company's successful acquisition of an ideal plot, laying a solid foundation for the future construction of KEDA Peru Glass Factory. Chao XU, General Manager of KEDA Peru Building Materials Co., Ltd., and Luis Alejia, Chairman of Sociedad Agricola Arona S.A, as representatives of both parties, signed the land purchase contract in the presence of their lawyers and teams, commencing a new journey for KEDA Industrial Group in Peru.
It is reported that the location of KEDA Industrial Group's float glass production line in Peru is in Cañete Province. The first phase of the project plans to construct 1 architectural glass production line with a planned daily capacity of 600 tons, covering markets in Peru and surrounding countries. The official product launch is expected in early 2025. In the subsequent phase, the Peru factory will plan for other product categories in the second phase based on project operation conditions.
Based on preliminary market research, there is currently no local glass production capacity in Peru. KEDA Industrial Group's investment in establishing a factory in the region aims to replace imported products and seize market space. The selected site for the glass factory is close to the Pan-American Highway, ensuring convenient transportation. It also has ample resources of water, fuel, and raw materials to meet production needs.
On that day, the project commencement officially kicked off after a grand ceremony. Participants expressed that the construction of KEDA Peru Glass Factory will not only inject new vitality into the local economy but will also lay a solid foundation for the rise of the glass industry in South America.
The groundbreaking of KEDA Peru Glass Factory is another powerful testament to KEDA's continuous innovation and development on a global scale. With the development of KEDA Peru Glass Factory, we believe it will set a new benchmark for the glass industry in Peru, contributing significantly to our "Ten Billion Building Materials" strategy.
